Role OverviewA nationally recognized engineering and infrastructure firm is seeking a Senior Structural / Transmission Line Engineer to lead and deliver complex transmission design scopes. This is a high-impact, technically specialized role supporting 345kV765kV rebuild and greenfield projects, including emerging technologies such as HVDC. The successful candidate will operate as a technical specialist with minimal supervision and may contribute to business development.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead transmission line design and analysis across large-scale 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects
Perform and oversee engineering calculations in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and quality requirements
Structural design of transmission steel structures and foundations; apply 3D analysis and design software
Develop equipment and material recommendations; manage scope within budget and schedule
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers
Coordinate across disciplines and serve as responsible charge on assigned projects
Maintain and develop departmental design guides, standards, and quality processes
Build and maintain positive client relationships; support business development and pursuit activities
Identify and train successors; participate in performance management and career development

Colorado: $148,852 $248,578
Illinois: $148,852 $248,578
Massachusetts: $162,384 $271,176
Minnesota: $142,086 $237,279
California: $148,852 $293,774

Qualifications:
Required QualificationsBachelors degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
5+ years of directly related transmission line engineering experience
Proficiency in PLS-CADD (required); PLS-POLE a plus
Strong knowledge of overhead transmission line design from 69kV to 500kV+
Experience with utility-scale electrical transmission systems
Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and MVR
Preferred Qualifications
PE license (Professional Engineer)
Experience with HVDC or 765kV projects
Structural design experience using 3D analysis software (steel and concrete)
Prior client-facing experience with business development involvement
Familiarity with NESC and applicable ASCE/IEEE standards
